OMAHA (DTN) -- This Friday, March 7, DTN is kicking off its quarterly DTN Ag Summit Series with updates on ag policy, markets and weather. We invite you to join us in the morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CST for a deeper understanding of current ag challenges and opportunities ahead of spring.

Farmers face a rapidly changing political environment as they gear up for spring planting. The news around tariff negotiations, budget cutting efforts and potential tax reforms may keep the markets guessing, but our experts will help farmers put the news into perspective.

Washington's not the only driver of bumpy grain markets, and an uncertain summer weather forecast could lead to bigger moves. DTN's experts will help farmers set their businesses up for success in 2025.

Hosted by DTN's Farm Business Editor Katie Dehlinger, "Spring Forward: Ag Policy, Weather Trends and Market Insights," comprises three DTN experts who will share policy, weather and markets updates for the spring. Here's what you can expect during this free, virtual event.

AG POLICY UPDATE 9 A.M. CST

With USDA under new leadership and policy changes happening at lighting speed, DTN Ag Policy Editor Chris Clayton shares the latest tariffs and trade policy, outlook for tax reform and more.

Clayton is a seasoned, award-winning journalist who has reported and edited for DTN and Progressive Farmer magazine since 2005. Before that, he was a reporter for more than seven years at the Omaha World-Herald.

SPRING WEATHER UPDATE 9:45 A.M. CST

A weak La Nina could linger through spring, which could lead to planting and early growth issues for several parts of the country. With the El Nino Southern Oscillation returning to neutral conditions, summer growing conditions could be a tale of haves and have-nots. Ag Meteorologist John Baranick shares the latest from DTN's proprietary weather data and forecasting.

Baranick has been part of the DTN team as a meteorologist since 2011, helping people in various industries, including agriculture, make important business decisions. His comments have been received by clients in aviation, transportation, energy and agriculture industries worldwide.

GRAIN MARKET OUTLOOK 10:15 A.M. CST

Corn and soybean prices got a lift after USDA tightened the domestic balance sheets in the January WASDE, but even with dry weather in parts of South America, are these prices too good to last? DTN Lead Analyst Rhett Montgomery dives into the fundamental and technical drivers of the markets.

While new to DTN, Montgomery has worked in the grain industry since 2017. Prior to joining DTN in 2024, Rhett worked as a cash grain merchandiser and farm marketing adviser servicing Nebraska and neighboring states. He is currently earning his master's degree in agricultural economics.
