AGCO's CEO Shares 4 Priorities

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (DTN) -- AGCO Corporation Chairman, President and CEO Eric Hansotia sat down with DTN/Progressive Farmer for an interview during Fendt's dealer and media new equipment presentations in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Hansotia touched on four areas important to production agriculture. For a video of the full interview with Hansotia, go to: https://www.dtnpf.com/….

1. COVID-BATTERED SUPPLY CHAINS

Hansotia: Relative to our factories, we're still struggling; it's probably some of the worst supply chain constraints in any of our careers. We're not out of this yet. We've got several more months of challenges.

2. FARMERS FACING PARTS SHORTAGES

Hansotia: There's been an intersection of two things. One is the supply chain challenges, but then there's also been a strong uptick in demand. So, you've got more demand, less supply. That's what creates some tension.

3. FULL-LINE STRATEGY

Hansotia: We want Fendt to become a full-line (equipment) supplier to all farmers ... farmers who want the best of the best in terms of technology, quality and support.

4. TECHNOLOGY

Hansotia: The biggest value we can provide to our farmers is to be providing smart machine solutions. And the way we define that is with machines that have sensors on them that can understand their environment, be measuring it on the go, understand when the conditions are changing either in the crop or the soil or the environment, and then do onboard calculations to make adjust and optimize that machine's performance.
